I've been on a historical romance kick this month, probably in an attempt to reset my stress levels. Historical romance has always been my primary escape mechanism. I found and fell in love with Elisa Braden's Midnight in Scotland series and Rescued from Ruin series. They are interconnected, and I LOVE that in a series!
When writing the Crimson Creek series, especially "The Songwriter Gets His Girl," there were a lot of songs I listened to that I felt embodied the moods of different characters, personalities, and my own mental state! I'll try to find all the songs and make a list, in case you ever want to listen to the music of Crimson Creek!
This series is my FAVORITE, and when I see a new release, it's an auto-buy for me! The first few books follow three best friends as they become werewolves, vampires, and hybrids. Then they set up an agency to help other accidentally turned paranormals. Each book is dual POV romances between a paranormal being and an accidentally turned one. They are spicy reads, and we see the same supporting cast throughout the series. I love that we get to really get to know them.
This series was a bit edgier than those I normally read. There is a group of "bad guys" out to destroy or capture the paranormal beings living among us in secret. It was my first exposure to this type of paranormal book, and I LOVED it. I've read the entire series and each of these heroes are so hot.
As a pilot's wife, I was definitely down to read this book written by a stewardess! She did SUCH a great job with it too. The way she portrays the lifestyle is accurate, and I loved how heartwarming the story was. The characters are still near and dear to my heart. Not much spice but it's a great beach read!
First time reading this author, and it blew away all my expectations for a new author! It was spicy, good pacing, and a great story. I was sucked into the world and can NOT wait for the rest of the series. I am SO invested!
